IS 4648 : 1968 Guide for Electrical Layout in Residential Buildings

1 Scope

1.1 This guide prescribes, for single family dwellings, theelectrical installations needed to provide satisfactory facilitiesby the use of electricity. While this guide is primarily intendedto apply to single family dwellings, the criteria are alsoapplicable to the individual dwellings of multi-family residencesin so far as the latter are self-contained.

1.2 This guide is applicable for low voltage Systems up to 250 Vboth ac and dc.

1.3 This guide does not include methods of installing theprescribed electrical facilities.
