IS 4759 : 1996 Hot-dip zinc coatings on structural steel and other allied products

1 Scope

1.1 This standard specifies requirements for zinc coatingapplied by hot-dip galvanizing on iron and steel products,fabricated or assembled from cast, rolled, pressed and forgedshapes, such as structural steel sections, plates and bars.

1.2 This standard makes no reference to the quality of iron andsteel itself before hot-dip galvanizing. However guidance on thecondition of the base material which may affect the result ofhot-dip galvanizing are given in Annex A.
