IS 4889 : 1968 Methods of Determination of Efficiency of Rotating Electrical Machines

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers methods of determining efficiencies ofdc. ac synchronous and induction machines from tests, and methodsof obtaining particular losses when these are required for otherpurposes.

Note - The principles can, however, be applied to other types ofmachines, such as rotary convertors, ac commutator motors andsingle-phase induction motors for which other methods ofdetermining losses are generally applied.
