IS 4894 : 1987 Centrifugal fans

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers the requirements and tests forcentrifugal fans having impeller directly coupled to the shaft ofelectric motors or indirectly driven by electric motors. In thecase of indirectly driven fans, the electric motor shall conform tothe relevant Indian Standard.

1.2 The fans for use under free flow conditions are excludedfrom the scope of this standard.

1.3 Centrifugal fans for use in mines and hazardous atmospheresmay require additional requirements to be met, not covered by thisstandard.
