1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard prescribes the methods for sampling of tyre yarns, tyre cords and tyre cord fabrics for determination of various physical characteristics, namely, linear density, breaking load, elongation at break, thickness ( gauge), twist, heat shrinkage, heat shrinkage force and heat degradation. It gives the number of tests for determination of vario us characteristics with specified degree of accuracy. It also lays down the criteria for ascertaining the conformity to the specified requirements.
