1 Scope
1.1 This standard gives recommendations for grouting of pervioussoils for control of seepage. These are applicable wherever theprimary purpose of grouting is to reduce the permeability of thesoil. In such cases, consolidation of the soil would be asubsidiary objective.
1.2 After the width and depth of the curtain is decided ascontained in IS 11293 : Part 1 : 1985 or any other relevant IndianStandard, it is necessary to choose the equipment, materials andfield techniques so that the desired impermeabilization can beachieved with reasonable assurance. The principal objective ofthese recommendations is to set out the basic considerationsgoverning choice of grout materials, equipment and fieldprocedures.
