IS 5099 : 2003 Technical Supply Conditions for Twist Drills

1 Scope

This standard covers the material, hardness, generalrequirement, marking and packing for twist drills.

1.1 This standard also specifies the performance test for normal(N) twist drills: hard (H) or soft (S) twist drill may be tested asagreed to between the manufacturer and the purchaser.

1.2 The requirements covered in this standard are not applicableto carbide tipped twist drills, drills to be used on woodenmaterial, hand operated twist drills and roll forged drills.
