IS 5111 : 1993/ISO 917 : 1989 Testing of refrigerant compressors

National Foreword

This Indian Standard which is identical to ISO 917 : 1989`Testing of refrigerant compressors' issued by the InternationalOrganization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureauof Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Refrigeration andAirconditioning Sectional Committee (HMD 03) and approval of theHeavy Mechanical Engineering Division Council.

This standard was first issued in 1969 as `Code of practice andmeasurement procedures for testing refrigerant compressors" andassistance was taken from draft ISO Recommendation 917 : 1968 `Thetesting of refrigerant compressors'. Consequent upon the revisionof ISO standard as ISO 917 : 1989, this standard has been revisedto bring it in line with international practices.
