IS 5298 : 2013 : Method for Determination of Distillation Range and Distillation Yield

1. Scope

This standard prescribes methods for the determination of distillation range and distillation yield of liquids, boiling between 30 and 350°C , that are chemically stable during this process. This method covers manual and automatic distillation procedures. This standard is applicable for both organic and inorganic liquids. Thismethod is not applicable for petroleum products, inorganic acids and alkali solutions. For distillation of petroleum products, IS1448 [P:18] ‘Methods of test for petroleum and its products: Part 18 Distillation of petroleum products’ is applicable.
