IS 5442 : 1992 Classification of haematite iron ore

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers classification of haematite iron ore onthe basis of composite mineralogy.

1.2 The standard is based only upon the main chemistry and thephysical size of the end product. It envisages that any geologicalprototype of the material is to be graded only at the marketingstage, for inducting a homogeneous classification irrespective ofany intrinsic irregularity of the naturally occurring materialbefore the onset of mining and processing.
