1. SCOPE

This Indian Standard (Part 1/Sec 1) describes methods of sampling crude or processed animal and vegetable fats and oils (individual as well as blended), fortified oils, fatty materials and co-products (referred to as fats hereafter), whatever the origin and whether liquid or solid. It also describes the apparatus used for sampling.

NOTE - This standard does not cover methods of sampling of milk and milk products, including milk fats.
