IS 5596 : 1970 Method of test for determining deleterious substances in fibrous insulating materials

1 Scope

1.1 This standard describes reference methods of test fordetermining deleterious substances or groups of substances in Thisfibrous electrical insulating materials:

a) cotton,

b) acetylated cotton,

c) wool,

d) silk,

e) jute,

f) flax,

g) regenerated cellulose,

h) cellulose acetate,

j) synthetic polymers,

k) paper,

m) asbestos, and

n) glass.

1.2 This standard does not apply to materials which have beengiven a finishing treatment, such as coating, waxing or polishing.
