NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 4) which is identical to ISO 4491-4 : 2019 ‘Metallic powders - Determination of oxygen content by reduction methods - Part 4: Total oxygen by reductionextraction’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Powder Metallurgical Materials and Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 1970 and subsequently revised in 1981, 1985, 1993 and 2018. The fifth revision of this standard has been undertaken to align with the latest version ISO 4491- 4 : 2019 to harmonize it with the latest developments that have taken place at international level.
