1 SCOPE

1.1 This standard (Part 3) prescribes two methods, method A and method B, for the measurement of the foaming power of a surface active agent. These methods are applicable to all surface active agents.

1.2 The methods are not applicable for measurement of the foaming power of very dilute solutions of surface active agents, such as river water containing surface active agents.

1.3 In cases of dispute, method A known as ross-miles method, is the referee method.
