IS 5815 : Part 4 : 2018/ISO 1805 : 2006 Methods of Test for Fishing Gear Materials Part 4 Fishing Nets — Determination of Breaking Force and Knot Breaking Force of Netting Yarns
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 4) (Second Revision) which is identical with ISO 1805 : 2006 ‘Fishing nets - Determination of breaking force and knot breaking force of netting yarns’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Textile Materials for Marine/Fishing Purposes Sectional Committee and approval of the Textile Division Council.
This standard was originally published in 1971 and subsequently revised as IS 5815 (Part 4) : 1993 ‘Fishing nets - Determination of breaking load and knot breaking load of netting yarns’ which was identical with ISO 1805 : 1973. The second revision of this standard has been undertaken to harmonize with the latest version of ISO 1805.
The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are however not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
