NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 12) (Second Revision) which is identical to ISO 4134 : 2021 ‘Meat and meat products - Determination of L-(+)-glutamic acid content - Reference method’ issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Slaughter House and Meat Industry Sectional Committee and approval of the Food and Agriculture Division Council.

This Standard was originally published in 1988 and was an identical adoption of ISO 4134 : 1978 under dual numbering. The standard was subsequently revised in 2001 to align with ISO 4134 : 1999 under dual numbering. This revision has been undertaken to harmonize it with the latest version of ISO 4134 published in 2021.
