IS 5960 : Part 1 : 2023/ISO 937 : 2023 Meat and Meat Products - Methods of Test - Part 1 Determination of Nitrogen Content
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian standard which is identical to ISO 937 : 2023 'Meat and meat products - Determination of nitrogen content - Reference method' issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Slaughter House and Meat Industry Sectional Committee and approval of the Food and Agriculture Division Council.
This Indian Standard which was originally published in 1970 and was based on the method contained in ISO/R 937 : 1969. Subsequently, it was revised in the year 1996 in order to harmonize the standard with ISO 937 : 1978. This second revision of the standard has been undertaken to harmonize with the latest version of ISO 937 published in the year 2023 and is an identical adoption of the ISO document under dual numbering.
The text of ISO standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations.
Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appear referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
