1 Scope

This standard describes both geometrical and practical tests onprecision lathes with swing over bed up to 500 mm and distancebetween centres up to 1500 mm, and the corresponding permissibledeviations, with reference to IS 2063 : ]988 `Acceptance code fortesting machine tools: "Geometric accuracy of machines operatingunder no load of finishing conditions.

It deals Only with the verification of accuracy and appliesneither to the testing of the running of the machine (vibrations,abnormal noises, stick-slip motion of components, etc) nor to themachine characteristics (speeds, feeds, etc) which shall generallybe checked before resting the accuracy.
