IS 6062 : 1971 Method of Measurement of Flow of Water in Open Channels Using Standing Wave Flume-fall

UDC 532.573.8 : 532.543 WRD 1
Reaffirmed 2020

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers the use of standing wave flume-falls,as described subsequently, for the measurement of flow of water inopen channels. The flow conditions considered are limited to steadyflows which are uniquely dependent on the upstream head. Thesubmerged flows beyond modular limits which depend on downstream aswell as upstream water levels are not considered.

1.2 An example is given in Appendix A to provide guidelines forthe designer.
