Revised Standard from Last Update.

NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Second Revision) which is identical with ISO 1609 : 2020 ‘Vacuum technology - Dimensions of non-knife edge flanges’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Chemical Engineering Plants and Related Equipment Sectional Committee and approval of the Mechanical Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 1971. The standard was first revised (including its title) by adopting ISO 1609 : 1986 in 1990 as IS 6076 : 1990/ISO 1609 : 1986. The second revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 1609 : 2020. This standard IS 6076 : 2021/ISO 1609 : 2020 will supersede IS 6076 : 1990/ISO 1609 : 1986 ‘Vacuum technology flange dimensions (First Revision)’.

The major changes in this revision are as follows:

a) The title has been updated;

b) The normative references has been updated;

c) “40” in clause 4.1.1 has been corrected to “50”.
