NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Third Revision) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards, after the draft finalized by Man-Made Fibres, Cotton and Their Products Sectional Committee had been approved by the Textile Division Council.

This Indian Standard is identical with ‘ISO 2076 : 2013 Textiles - Man-made fibres - Generic names’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This standard was first published in 1971 and subsequently revised in 1991 and 2014. This standard has been revised again to align it with the latest version of ISO 2076 by adoption under dual numbering system.
