IS 6303 : Part 5 : 2023/IEC 60086-5 : 2021 Primary Batteries - Part 5 Safety of Batteries with Aqueous Electrolyte
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard (Part 5) which is identical to IEC 60086-5 : 2021 'Primary batteries - Part 5: Safety of batteries with aqueous electrolyte' issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Primary Cells and Batteries Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.
IS 6303 series is published in various parts. Other parts in the series are:
Part 0 General (second revision)
Part 4 Safety of lithium batteries (second revision)
The Indian ambient conditions given in National Annex F shall be applicable for this standard.
The text of the IEC standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words 'International Standard' appears referring to this standard, they should be read as 'Indian Standard'; and
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
