IS 638 : 1979 Specification for Sheet Rubber Jointing and Rubber Insertion Jointing

1 Scope

1.1 This standard prescribes the requirements and the methods of sampling and test for sheet rubber jointing and rubber insertionjointing for use between flanges and similar joints subjected towater pressure, air pressure or low pressure steam.

Note - The recommended low pressure steam is up to 350 kN/m² (approximately 3.5 kgf/cm²).
