This Indian Standard (First Revision) which is identical withISO 2374 : 1983 `Lifting appliances - Range of maximum capacitiesfor basic models, issued by International Organization forStandardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standardson the recommendations of the Cranes, Lifting Chains and itsRelated Equipment Sectional Committee, and approval of the HeavyMechanical Engineering Division Council.

This Indian Standard was first published in 1972. During thisrevision, ISO 2374 : 1983 has been adopted under dual numbersystem.
