1 Scope

1.1 This standard specifies the requirements for institutionalmodel, adult size, non-folding wheelchairs used in hospitals andsimilar institution.

1.2 This standard covers only the requirements of Type 1 andType 2 wheelchairs. Types 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8,9 and Type 0 wheelchairsare not covered in this standard.
