IS 6916 : 1973 Code of practice for fabrication welding of steel castings

1 Scope

1.1 This standard specifies requirements for the joiningtogether of steel castings by fusion welding, where the componentsof the final fabrication are designed for that purpose or whenwelding is introduced at the foundry planning stage.

1.1.1 It does not cover the welding of steel castings to wroughtsteels, nor the surface deposition of weld metal for applications,such as corrosion resistance or hard facing.
