This Indian Standard (Part 14) which is identical with ISO 4646: 1989 `Rubber- or plastics-coated fabrics - Low temperature impacttest issued by the International Organization for Standardization(ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on therecommendations of the Rubber and Rubber Products SectionalCommittee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related ProductsDivision Council.

This standard was first published in 1987 aligning with lSO/DIS 4646:1985 Flubber- or plastics-coated fabrics — Low temperature impact test’. The Committee, therefore, decided to revise this standard to completely align with ISO 4646:1989.

The text of ISO Standard has been proposed to be approved as suitable for publication as Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
