NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 3/Sec 1) (Third Revision), which is identical to ISO 4674-1 : 2016 ‘Rubber- or plastics-coated fabrics - Determination of tear resistance - Part 1: Constant rate of tear methods’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation(s) of the Methods of Test for Rubber and Rubber Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.

This standard was first published in 1973 and revised in 1981 to align it with ISO 4674 : 1977 ‘Fabrics coated with rubber or plastics - Determination of tear resistance’ which was technically revised and split into two parts as ISO 4674-1 : 2003 and ISO 4674-2 : 1998.
