NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 5) (Third Revision) which is identical with ISO 2411 : 2017 ‘Rubber-or plastics-coated fabrics - Determination of coating adhesion’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Method of Test for Rubber and Rubber Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.

This standard was first published in 1973 and revised in 1987 and 2003. In the first revision scope and title of the standard had been modified and certain changes had been made in the test procedure in order to update the standard aligning with ISO 2411 : 1973 ‘Fabrics coated with rubber or plastic - Determination of the coating adhesion’. The Committee, during second revision, decided to revise this standard to completely align with ISO 2411 : 1991 under dual numbering system. Third revision is being carried out to align the standard with latest ISO 2411 : 2017 available on the subject.

The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain terminologies and conventions are, however, not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:

a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appear referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.

b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker, while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
