IS 7027 : 1984 Specification for Transistorized Ballasts Fluorescent Lamps

1 Scope

1.1 This standard specifies requirements for transistorizedballasts for use in dc supplies, having rated voltages notexceeding 250 V, associated with fluorescent lamps with pre-heatedcathodes, operated without a starter switch.

1.2 These ballasts are suitable for use on maintained andintermittently maintained luminaires for emergency lighting.

1.3 This specification does not apply to transistorized ballastsfor railways or for aircraft.
