IS 7142 : 2025 Welded Low Carbon Steel Cylinders for Low Pressure Liquefiable Gases not exceeding 5 Litre Water Capacity - Specification

1 SCOPE

1.1 This standard deals with welded low carbon steel two piece cylinders intended for storage and transportation of low pressure liquefiable gases, other than toxic gases, of nominal capacity exceeding 500 ml, but not exceeding 5 litre water capacity. This standard lays down the requirements for the materials, design, manufacture, construction, tests and marking of these cylinders.

1.2 Cylinders with water capacity more than 5 litres are covered in IS 3196 (Part 1 and Part 2).
