IS 7228 : 1983/ISO 7006 : 1981 Recommended spindle diameters for woodworking machines with rotating bored tools

National Foreword

This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 7006-1981`Woodworking machines - Diameters of spindles for receivingcircular sawblades issued by the International Organization forStandardization (ISO), was adopted by the Indian StandardsInstitution on the recommendation of the Machine Tools, MachineTool Elements and Woodworking Machines Sectional Committee andapproved by the Engineering Division Council.

This standard was first issued in 1974 and was based uponexperience of our woodworking machines industry with a view toreducing the variety and rationalize the spindle diameters.Consequent upon publication of ISO 7006-1981, this standard hasbeen revised by adopting ISO 7006-1981 to bring it in line with ISOStandard.

Wherever the words `International Standard appear, referring tothis standard, they should be read as `Indian Standard.
