IS 7285 : Part 2 : 2017 Refillable Seamless Steel Gas Cylinders - Specification Part 2 Quenched and Tempered Steel Cylinders with Tensile Strength Less Than 1 100 MPa (112 kgf/mm2) ICS 23.020.30 MED 16
Reaffirmed 2022
1. Scope
This standard specifies minimum requirements for the material, design, construction and workmanship, manufacturing processes and tests at manufacture ofrefillable quenched and tempered seamless steel gas cylinders of water capacities from 0.5 litre up to and including 400 litres for compressed, liquefied and dissolved gases exposed to extreme ambient temperatures (normally between -20 and +65°C). This part is applicable to cylinders with a maximum tensile strength (Rm) less than 1 100 MPa (112 kgf/mm2).
NOTES
1 If so desired, cylinders of water capacity less than 0.5 litre may be manufactured and certified to this standard.
2 If so desired, cylinders ofwater capacity exceeding 400 litres may be manufactured and certified to this standard. The number of cylinders to be subjected to pressure cycling test, and sampling method for mechanical tests shall be decided in consultation with the statutory authority.
