1. SCOPE

1.1 This standard specifies requirements for the approval tests for welding procedures for the fusion welding ( see 3.3) of carbon and carbon-manganese steel, except castings. The approval testing of welding procedure for the fusion welding of steel casting are covered in IS: 5530-1969t and IS: 6916-1973.
