1 Scope

1.1 This standard provides some important basic guidelines forthe operation of reservoirs in order to achieve maximum benefitsconsistent with their physical characteristics and functions forwhich they are planned and constructed.

1.2 These guidelines are broad generalisation only and areindicative in nature. For actual operation of reservoir or a systemof reservoirs, individual regulation schedules are required to beformulated, after considering all critical factors involved.
