IS 7343 : 1986 Code of practice for ultrasonic testing of ferrous welded pipes and tubular products

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers procedures for detecting longitudinaland transverse (circumferential) discontinuities in ferrous weldedpipes and tubular products using ultrasonic pulse echo-contact andimmersion technique. It is intended to be used for tubular productshaving outside diameter greater than 12 mm and having an outsidediameter to inside diameter ratios less than 2.

1.2 For the purpose of this standard, all the relevantrequirements specified in this standard in addition to therequirements specified in IS 3664 : 1981 are applicable.
