1 Scope

1.1 This standard (Part 2) provides management guidelines forthe selection of reliability and maintainability activitiesappropriate to each of five definable phases of product life :concept and definition, design and development, manufacturing andinstallation, operation and maintenance, and disposal.

1.2 This standard is applicable to electrotechnical products andis an overall standard to be applied by management in establishinga reliability and maintainability programme appropriate to theproduct and its end use.
