IS 7397 : 1986 B-chain electro-acoustic response of motion picture sound reproduction system

1 Scope

1.1 This standard gives the characteristics and methods ofmeasurement of the B-chain response of motion picture studio,dubbing theaters, review rooms and indoor theatres. It is intendedto assist in standardization of recording monitor and reproductioncharacteristics of motion picture sound in rooms with volume of 150m³ and greater. It does not apply where therecorded sound is intended for reproduction under domesticlistening conditions; that is, radio and television broadcasting,tape or disc.

1.2 This standard does not cover the electro-acoustic responsecharacteristics of motion-picture surround or effects loudspeakers,or sub-bass loudspeakers (sub-woofers).
