IS 7436 : Part 1 : 1993 Guide for types of measurements for structures in river valley projects and critria for choice and location of measuring instruments: Part 1 For earth and rockfill dams

1 Scope

1.1 This standard covers the various types of measurementsneeded for monitoring the behaviour of earth and rockfill dams andprovides guidelines for choice of instruments and their locations.

1.1.1 Generally the same type of instruments are suitable forearth and rockfill dams. For the latter, however, graded materialis used between the rockfill and the instrument so that theinstrument does not get damaged by the rock pieces.
