NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Second Revision) which is identical with ISO 4496 : 2017 ‘Metallic powders - Determination of acid-insoluble content in iron, copper, tin and bronze powders’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Powder Metallurgical Materials and Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Metallurgical Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 1974 and subsequently revised in 1985. The second revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 4496 : 2017 in dual numbering system to harmonize it with latest developments that have taken place at international level.
