IS 7444 : 1974 Code of safety for methanol

1 Scope

1.1 This standard describes properties of methanol, the natureof hazards associated with it and essential information on storage,handling, packing, labelling, disposal of waste, cleaning andrepair of containers, selection and training of personnel, personalprotective equipment and first aid.

1.2 Attention of the users of this code is directed to the factthat the production, storage, transport, import and export ofmethanol in India is controlled by the Chief Controller ofExplosives of the Government of India under The InflammableSubstances Act, 1952. The statutory regulations are embodied in thePetroleum Rules, 1937 issued by the Government of India.
