IS 7445 : 2022 Acetone - Code of Safety

1. SCOPE
1.1 This code describes the properties of acetone, the nature of hazards associated with it and essential information on storage, handling, packing, labelling, and disposal of waste, cleaning and repairing of containers, selection and training of personnel, personal protective equipment, and first-aid.
1.2 This code does not, however, deal with specifications for design of buildings, chemical engineering, plants, method and ingredients used in the manufacture, equipment for waste disposal and operation control.
NOTE - Attention of the users of this code is directed to the fact that the production, storage, transport, import and export of acetone in India is controlled by the Chief Controller of Explosives of the Government of India under 'The Inflammable Substances Act 1952'.
