ICS 01.040.83; 83.060 | PCD 13 |
[Superceding IS 7503 (Part 1 to 6)]
NATIONAL FOREWORD
This Indian Standard which is identical with ISO 1382 : 2012 ‘Rubber — Vocabulary’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Rubber and Rubber Products Sectional Committee and approval of the Petroleum, Coal and Related Products Division Council.
IS 7503 ‘Glossary of terms used in rubber industry’ was originally published in following six parts and all six parts were revised in 1988.
Part 1 Definitions of basic terms
Part 2 Definitions of additives
Part 3 Definitions relating to properties and testing
Part 4 Definitions relating to processing
Part 5 Definitions relating to products-hoses
Part 6 Definitions relating to cellular materials
The Committee has now decided to revise all six parts of standard by completely aligning with latest ISO 1382 and publish it as single standard that is IS 7503. After publication of this standard all existing six parts of IS 7503 shall be treated as withdrawn.
The text of ISO Standard has been approved as suitable for publication as an Indian Standard without deviations. Certain conventions are however not identical to those used in Indian Standards. Attention is particularly drawn to the following:
a) Wherever the words ‘International Standard’ appears referring to this standard, they should be read as ‘Indian Standard’.
b) Comma (,) has been used as a decimal marker while in Indian Standards, the current practice is to use a point (.) as the decimal marker.
