IS 7512 : 2006 Method for the Determination of Average Particle Size of Metal Powders by Fisher Sub-Sieve Sizer

1 Scope

1.1 This standard prescribes the method of determiningthe average particle size of metal powder by Fishersub-sieve sizer.

1.2 This test method uses air permeability to determinean envelope specific surface area and its associated averageequivalent spherical dhuneter of metal powders and relatedcompounds. The powders may be analyzed in their assupplied (shipped, received or processed) condition or afterthey have been de-agglomerated or milled by a laboratoryprocedure. The values obtained are not intended to beabsolute but are generally useful on a relative basis forcontrol purposes.
