NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Part 1) (Second Revision) which is identical with ISO 18526-1 : 2020 ‘Eye and face protection - Test methods - Part 1: Geometrical optical properties’ issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on recommendation of the Occupational Safety and Health Sectional Committee and approval of the Chemical Division Council.

IS 7524 (Part 1) was originally published in 1975 and revised in 1980 to align with ISO/DIS 4855. Now that ISO 4855 has been withdrawn and superseded by ISO 18526 series of standards. The second revision of this standard has been undertaken to align it with the latest version of ISO 18562-1 : 2020.
