NATIONAL FOREWORD

This Indian Standard (Third Revision) which is identical to ISO 22915-8 : 2018 'Industrial trucks - Verification of stability - Part 8: Additional stability test for trucks operating in the special condition of stacking with mast tilted forward and load elevated' issued by International Organization for Standardization (ISO), was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Transport Tractors, Trailers and Industrial Trucks Sectional Committee and approval of the Transport Engineering Division Council.

This standard was originally published in 1974 and subsequently revised in 2003 and 2008. The first revision of this standard was based on ISO 5767 : 1992 and the second revision of the standard was undertaken to align with ISO 22915-8 : 2008. This revision of the standard has been undertaken to align it with ISO 22915-8 : 2018.

The changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:

a) In 1, removed reference to ISO 5053;

b) In 1, added references to ISO 5053-1, ISO 22915-13 and ISO 22915-15;

c) In 2, removed ISO 5053, Powered industrial - Terminology; and

d) In 2, added ISO 5053-1, Industrial trucks - Terminology and classification - Part 1: Types of industrial trucks, ISO 22915-13, Industrial trucks - Verification of stability - Part 13: Rough-terrain trucks with mast, and ISO 22915-15, Industrial trucks - Verification of stability - Part 15: Counterbalanced trucks with articulated steering.
