1. Scope

This standard defines terms frequently used in the field of surface active agents.

NOTES

1 Some terms dissociated or not from their definition can appear as commercial terms according to their usage or to their mode of presentation; under no circumstances may their definitions be used as reference definitions for the commercial terms.

2 Other terms which appear non-specific to surface active agents, are nevertheless widely used in this field.

3 The standard gives, in particular, specific terms for textiles applications, dry cleaning, etc, but terms for other applications may be introduced.
