This standard (Part 1) covers general requirements regardingmaterials, manufacture, methods of test, inspection and marking ofall types of injection moulded PVC socket fittings intended forconnection, by using solvent cement, to PVC pipes covered by IS4985 : 1988 [Specification for unplasticized PVC pipes for potablewater supplies] for water supplies.
