1 Scope

1.1 This standard (Part 8) recommends the methods to be used for dimensionalinspection and testing of hot coiled helical compression springs conforming toIS 7906 : Part 5 : 1989.

1.2 For carrying out certain tests this standard recommends the use ofgauges. However, it is to be recommended that for very small quantities the useof suitable gauges may not be economical. In that case an alternative method maybe agreed between the purchaser and the supplier.
