IS 7907 : Part 1 : 2004 Helical Extension Springs - Part 1 : Design and Calculation for Springs Made from Circular Section Wire and Bar

ICS 21.160 TED 6
Reaffirmed 2014

1 Scope

This standard (Part 1) lays down calculations for design ofhelical extension springs made from circular section wire and bar.

It applies to cold and hot coiled springs loaded in thedirection of the spring axis and operated at normal roomtemperature. For operations at considerably higher or lowertemperatures, spring manufacturer should be consulted.
